Johan has over 15 years of experience in the payroll field. He worked for different payroll software development vendors, the first being Pastel Payroll. Here he received in-depth training in payroll administration and management, working as an on-site consultant and end-user trainer. Later he became a Pastel Payroll Certified Installer and National Lecturer. He was responsible for the training of the internal trainers, end-users and resellers covering all aspects of payroll – from payroll related legislation, payroll best practices, and software training

After this, he joined PSIber as a product specialist and was involved in all aspects of the software i.e. system implementation for companies ranging in sizes between 50 and 10 000 employees, quality assurance, end-user training, business analysis, project management etc

He was extensively involved in the testing/quality assurance of the SARS e@syFile software in the early days of its release. He was a regular speaker at Bi-Annual Tax Workshops, focusing primarily on the Tax Year-End, e@syfile submission and reconciliation and the implementation thereof in systems.

He then established a company called Excelsiar Payroll Outsourcing,  applying his experience in payroll management and payroll systems to provide a specialised Payroll Outsourcing Service to SME’s. He continues to consult with SME’s and large businesses on matters relating to payroll and the implementation thereof in systems.
